Shaklee’s Environmental Leadership Profiled in Upcoming Edition of Forbes Magazine

Shaklee’s global leadership role as a forward-thinking environmentally-conscious company – and member of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Climate Leaders Program – is profiled in the January 8, 2007 edition of Forbes magazine. One of the premier national publications for business entrepreneurs, Forbes has a readership of over 900,000. To complement this article, Shaklee has placed a one page ad in this issue of the magazine.

This issue of Forbes features a Special Advertising Section on behalf of the EPA’s Climate Leaders Program, and is designed to bring to the attention of North American business leaders how “Building A Healthier Climate” though lowering carbon emissions and clean energy will not only have a perceptible effect on global warming – but represents a great opportunity for business and venture capital investment alike in the future.

Shaklee is included with Exelon Corporation and Sun Microsystems as a “case study” whose response to what the EPA terms “the challenge of the century” has been good for the environment and good for business. Already the first Climate Neutral®-certified company in the world in 2000, Shaklee joined the EPA’s Climate Leaders Program – launched in 2002 as “an industry-partnership approach to help companies develop long-term greenhouse gas-reduction strategies.” Now, more than 100 companies are participating in the program.

Shaklee Chairman and CEO Roger Barnett states, “If the top 500 companies in the world followed Shaklee’s lead and became carbon neutral, that would be the equivalent of eliminating half a billion cars from the road, and would have a dramatic impact on greenhouse gas emissions.”

Appropriately, the accompanying Shaklee advertisement – Let’s Do Nothing But Good – reinforces our company’s commitment to “run our business leaving no carbon footprint behind.”

The January 8, 2007 issue of Forbes magazine will be available in newsstands starting December 25. Please go to our Shaklee in the News page to read a copy of this compelling article, which will be available to read on our site following publication.
