Green tea and wu yi tea are both very effective in terms of bringing healthy benefits to the human body. Both of these types of tea contain natural substances that help keep illnesses at bay and facilitate in removing toxins and bad cholesterol from the body. After all, all tea products come from the same source: the tealeaves; the variation in the characteristics are present because of the location where they are harvested from.
Green tea is fully fermented and then is dried for packaging. On the other hand wu yi tea goes through less fermentation and is semi fermented. It stays in the sun for a less period of time and because of this retains more vitamins and minerals than when tea is fully fermented.

Researchers are still ongoing but preliminary data show that caffeine may reduce the risk of suffering from Parkinson’s disease, type-2 diabetes, and colon cancer.
For tannin sub groups, there are subtle differences between green tea and wu yi tea. Green tea has greater catechin level than wu yi tea has. Research indicates that catechin may reduce risks for diabetes, stroke, heart failure, and cancer. Catechin may also be considered a natural antibiotic because of it properties that can interrupt the bacterial DNA replication progression. Additionally, catechins may also aid in delaying the aging process.
Wu yi tea contains a much higher level of tearubugin and teaflavin. These are important to prevent dementia and memory loss as well as lowering blood cholesterol levels.
Lastly, tannin polyphenols are significantly in higher levels of concentration in wu yi than in green tea. Polyphenols are known to reduce the risks of cancer, diabetes mellitus, degenerative diseases, cardiovascular diseases, osteoporosis, and others. It is a powerful form of anti-oxidant thus helps reduce cholesterol in the body, together with other toxic compounds that may be harmful to our health.
